a letter from our Development Director

Thank you for your interest in volunteering to help serve the guests of Bridges of Iowa. For more than 15 years, our nonprofit organization has been bringing treatment and rehabilitation opportunities to people experiencing hardships resulting from substance abuse. With your help, we can continue to transform lives and our community in central Iowa.

Our volunteers play a vital role in the work we do. As a volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know our guests and to lend encouragement and support during their recovery. Such outside volunteer support sends a powerful message that rehabilitation treatment is not a journey that has to be made alone. Our staff and our guests deeply value your gift of your time.

While we appreciate that our ultimate goal is to make as much of an impact as possible on the lives of the people we serve, we also want to be sure that your time as a volunteer is rewarding and uplifting. To ensure that you have the best experience possible, please carefully read our guidelines and rules for volunteers. These rules are in place for the protection of our volunteers and our guests, and guarantee that everyone has the best and most rewarding experience possible. We would like to emphasize the importance of protecting the privacy of our guests. We ask that you please do not disclose any personally identifiable information about anyone in our program.

If at any time during your service with us you have any questions or concerns, please don’t hesitate to call me at 515.512.5379. I’m happy to assist in any way. Again, our staff and our guests are grateful for your gift of time and energy.

Thank you for all you do.
